Diana Ross European Tour 2005 ( Germany & Switzerland & Cyprus )
On the 26th June 2005, at 9.00 pm, a one and only Diana Ross concert, is to be staged, by the Municipality of Nicosia and Galaxias Productions, who have undertaken the organization of the concert in Cyprus. The “This is it” Diana Ross European Tour 2005 premiers in Cyprus, which, leaves an honorable mark on the Map of Cyprus, and an important professional achievement for the production company.
The preparation for the show began by the production team, from June 2004 and, is to be staged at the Tafros Da Villa, a venue which was chosen by her management team after their visit to our island in January of 2005.
Many days prior to the Concert, Miss Ross’ producers and assistants will be on the Island to overview all the tasks of the last days’ preparation and, the day prior to the concert, Diana Ross herself will be arriving in Cyprus with her private jet.
Diana Ross and her team, promise us all a very special unique evening, filled with songs from her greatest hits that we have all grown to know, love, dance and sing along to.
Further to the production Company’s recent communication with Miss Ross’ Public Relations Office, and I quote, “she is overwhelmed and very excited to be visiting and beginning her tour in the Island of Aphrodite” and promises to stage one of her best performances here for all the people of Cyprus who are lucky enough to ensure tickets and be a part of the show.
Daily, intense preparations are being made for the performance as the production itself is of very high standard. Lighting and sound systems will be shipped to Cyprus from London and Athens and all of Miss Ross’ production office, who are one of the most professional and renowned team worldwide, are working very closely and co-operating wonderfully with Galaxias Productions and, they assure this to be one of the best Ross concerts ever to be staged.
Galaxias Productions has made sure that Tafros Da Villa will be turned into a venue which will comfortably entertain the thousands of admirers of the “Soul Diva”.
Sixites diva Diana Ross makes it to Cyprus for a one-off concert
Well -known diva, gay icon and sixties legend. Diana Ross has been called a lot of things, but this may well be the first time she has played in a car park. It is definitely the first time she has kicked off an international tour in Cyprus. As we get more and more accustomed to a varied cultural scene, Diana Ross is just one of a list of stars who will grace our shores this summer. She plays a one-off concert at the Avilla moat this week.
With a career that has spanned decades, there has to be a Diana Ross track that most people can associate with, from 1960s numbers with the Supremes, to Ain’t No Mountain High Enough (1970), Why Do Fools Fall in Love (1981) to the more recent Chain Reaction.
Diana Ross shot to fame with the Supremes (who were first known as The Primettes) in the 1960s but then decided to ˜Stop! and give a solo career a shot, which turned out to be one of the best decisions she ever made. Matching hairdoes and subtle choreographies were part of what was so amazing about the Supremes, but probably the best part was the skinny girl with the big eyes: Diana Ross. However, the first step she made towards materialising her dreams as a soloist was nearly finalised when the group was remained Diana Ross and The Supremes. But that didn’t last for long, as Diana Ross gave her last performance with The Supremes in 1970. I guess people found it hard to believe but nothing could prepare them for the wave that Diana would ride on for the next years.

She got rid of the pin flowers, the skirts and the neatly proportioned hairdo and slipped into sexy outfits and wore her hair curly, long and all over the place probably representing her wild side. Diana has evidently been untouched by time (sheâ’s 60!) as she is still flaunting a figure to die for and she’s even got an amazing fashion sense too. Unlike other legends, Diana has found that by not re-inventing herself she has actually kept up and sometimes even overthrown many upcoming singers. But she’s not perfect as I distinctively remember her playing opposite Brandy, popular r’n’b singer, as a mother who abandoned her daughter to pursue a singing career and then hooks up with her (Brandy) when she turns 18. Not a very good move, but hey, she tried! No harm in that.

The sight of her in a long curve-hugging dress and elbow length gloves singing and dancing in the Chain Reaction video is enough to even make me, the younger generation, dance and prance around letting my hair run wild. Even though this is yet another singer to be trialed for drinking and driving, the legendary diva spent two days in a prison but we donâ’t care. We still love her and I bet the D’Avilla Moat will rock when she’s here.
