~ The Exclusive Tour with Miss Ross ~
~ Pictures are from Capetown International Airport ~
We started on the 6th of November from Frankfurt to Cape Town. were very exited to see Miss Ross again live in Concert. We arrived after an 12 hours flight. Before the show we had a couple of days to relax and do some sightseeing for example theWinelands , table Mountain , Waterfront etc. we decided also to go to Franschoek Mountain where Arne Naess had his tragic climbing accident almost two years ago.
Arrival at the Airport !
we were informed by some reporters , that Miss Ross will be landing in Cape town at 1:10 pm on the 10th of november. So we decided to go to the airport and meet her and her band. The band arrived early in the morning .It was like pick up family from the airport . It was a warm welcome for the band and even for Miss Ross !! The guys from the band were very very excited and happy to met us there.
we had a short talk to Miss Ross and she remembered us from the summer tour this year and told us to wait for signing photos etc. because there were many photographers who wanted to do some pictures of her arrival in Cape Town . She looked very stunning and she was accompanied by her family, Rhonda,Chudney,Ross,Evan,Katinka,Leona and Christopher Naess and their family
We got our signature and she smiled at us and she driven to the Hotel which we already have known .
It was fantastic , beeing the soundcheck . The following songs were part of the soundcheck 1.) Reach out and touch ..... 2.) Only Love will conquer all ..... For this two songs a choir from Cape town was singing with the band .
The show was supposed to start at 7 pm , but there was an power outeage in the complete city of Cape Town because of thunderstorm. So the show started at 7 45pm with Anke. This girl was the pop idol last year in South Africa. After her, Westlife sang for 45 minutes . It was the first time that we have seen Westlife live.
Around 9 30 pm Miss Ross entered the stage with Take me higher ( Setlist ) . Tthe audience went crazy . The venue was completely sold out !! .We dont know how many were people were in , we tought it would be around 6000-7000
What can we say ......
Miss Ross was again fantastic and it was worth going to Cape Town just for the concert.Time went by quickly and after 90 minutes the Show was over ... the press said the Show took around 2 hours !!
Btw. Evan was on stage to dance with his mother to Upside Down . The rest of the family were sitting in the audience . She stayed in Cape Town until Sunday and left the town to fly to London to work on the Video with Westlife for WYTMTYLM .
We heard some rumours about an upcoming tour next year probably April 2006 .
She is also working on her new CD which will be released in maybe in May 2006. So its gonna be a Ross year !!!!
We wish her and her family all the best and looking forward to see Miss Ross on tour next year.

Diana breezes in for Velodrome concert
November 11, 2005
By Candice Bailey
Diva Diana Ross says her fans can expect a few songs from each era in her career when she takes to the stage at Bellville Velodrome tonight.
She will be performing for a 5 000-strong audience with Irish boyband Westlife.
In an exclusive interview with the Cape Argus yesterday, Ross, a living legend at 61, said it was her first time in Cape Town.
She and her family were looking forward to their stay.
"Maybe we'll get a chance to see (the sights). We are going to find things to do here and we want to find out what it is like to be in Cape Town," she said, hours after arrival.
Relaxing on a couch, Ross said she was here with her children Rhonda, Chudney, Ross, Evan, Kitinka, Christopher and Leona.
Her second eldest daughter, Tracee Ross, who stars in the US sitcom Girlfriends, is not in the party.
Earlier yesterday Ross shimmied through Cape Town airport, hassle-free.
She was greeted by Waggiet Cornellius of Mitchell's Plain, who screamed, "Diana I love you" across the parking lot of the airport;
two German tourists who head the International Diana Ross Fan Club :-) and a handful of fans who had gathered to see the soul legend.
She signed a few autographs before she breezed off in her 7-series BMW.
Later, at her city hotel, she said she was "fine" and "happy to be here".
She will be in Cape Town until the weekend.
She was looking forward to her performance at the Velodrome tonight.
"I will be singing a little bit from my entire career. All your No 1 hit records. (With) the Supremes and each project or album."
Asked if she had a favourite song, she said: "Each one has a special memory. Each song has layers of memories and each time you do it in a different city or country, you build new memories."
She is busy recording an album, which she says may be released in May or near St Valentine's Day next year.
Ross is disappointed to miss seeing Nelson Mandela, who arrives in the city after she has left.
